Be Yoga —
Meet Tess

After years of participation in highly competitive and results driven sports, Tess’s active and healthy lifestyle eventually led her to explore the ancient teachings of yoga.

Since first embracing the practice of yoga in 2008, Tess has explored and deepened her understanding of the holistic philosophies of yoga including; the therapeutic effect yoga has on the body - physically, mentally and spiritually.

Tess graduated from the Hatha/Vinyasa teacher-training course at The Yoga Space under the guidance of Dr.Jean Byrne in 2013 and is a registered member of Yoga Australia with more than 750 hours of training. Tess has also completed the Jon Kabat-Zinn Mindful Based Stress Reduction Program, completed a Surfing Australia Stand-Up Paddle Board (SUP) Instructor Course and is one of the few SUP Yoga providers in Perth and Mandurah. Tess is currently completing a BHSc (Nutritional & Dietetic Medicine).

Tess truly believes yoga is for everyone and that the breath is a vehicle to connect body, mind and spirit. If you can breathe you can practice yoga. Tess’s classes are designed to be fun and creative while providing my students with a nurturing and safe space to practice.

As a teacher her focus is on guiding students through an infusion of meditation, relaxation, asana and pranayama, providing a practice that will build strength and flexibility and flow off the mat into our daily lives.

Tess’s love of the water merges with her love for Yoga in her SUP yoga classes, where traditional poses are performed whilst floating on water surrounded by Western Australia’s unique natural environment. Tess has been instructing people how to Stand Up Paddleboard and guiding student through SUP yoga since 2014.

Yoga is an essential part of life, not just a physical practice but a complete state of being. Tess is passionate about cultivating positive energy in all aspects of life and through yoga, she believes she can inspire others to experience the same.

Don’t just practice Yoga, Be Yoga.
